You cannot rename the "Users" folder to any other name in the operating system, since this restriction is internal and not available to bypass. The only solution that is most often needed is to change the name to "Users", which avoids problems with installing certain programs. This will be discussed further.

Method 1: Editing the DESKTOP file
The file called "Desktop" is in each folder of the operating system and is responsible for its general parameters, including localization. By default, it is hidden from the eyes of a regular user so that he cannot edit it or delete it, but now it is necessary for us to change, thereby ensuring the correct display of the "Users" folder in English.

- After setting up the object display, open the Start menu and go to Computer.
- Move to the system partition of the hard disk, where the "Users" folder is located.
- Find it and double-click the mouse button to go to view files there.
- Thanks to the previously performed, hidden files and folders are now displayed inside the catalog. It is responsible for its parameters called "Desktop", in which there is a certain number of code lines. Click on the PCM to open the context menu.
- In it, hover over "Open with" and from the list that appears, select the "Notepad" option.
- Find there in the LocalizedResourceName parameter string and completely remove it.

- If you now look at the same "Users" folder, then notice that its displayed name has not changed. Implemented earlier manipulations take effect only after the computer is rebooted, so do it now.
- Return to the same catalog again and check it out. By deleting a string with the display parameter of the localized name, the "Users" folder now has its original name.
Method 2: Deleting the "desktop.ini" file
Usually in the "Users" directory, the file under consideration serves only to display a localized name - there are no other parameters in it. Even if the file has been created again and the modified folder name remains the same, go back to the previous method and try it to realize it again.
Method 3: Editing Registry Settings
Custom folders contain not just a name in Russian - if you use the localized version of the operating system, the paths recorded as the registry parameters are installed for them. They are designed to go to directories and location them on the quick launch panel. Renaming the "Users" directory may be required when the "My Documents" folder is, for example, an error about the wrong way or disabling access appears. - In the "Value" field, enter a new name and close this window.

- Find the name of the folder, with the transition to which problems are observed.
- Instead of% UserProfile%, specify the full path - C: \ Users \ username, but consider that then the key starts to work only for the current account. Do not make changes if other profiles are added to the operating system.
