Cookie is a special data set that is transmitted to the browser used from the site visited. These files store information containing settings and user data, such as login and password. Some cookies are automatically deleted when the browser is closed, others need to be erased alone. Today we want to demonstrate the implementation of this procedure on the example of the Internet Explorer web browser.
Remove cookies in Internet Explorer
There are two known methods for cleaning cookies in the mentioned browser. Each of them will be optimal for different users, especially when it comes to deleting additional data, such as temporary files and viewing history. However, let's consider in detail these two options.Method 1: Browser Settings
In Internet Explorer, as in all Internet browsers, there is a built-in feature that allows you to clean the cookies, the history of viewing, saved passwords and other data. Today we are only interested in one procedure, and it is done like this:
- After opening the browser, you need to go to the service item, which is in the upper right corner.
- We choose the "Browser Properties" item.
- In the "Browser Magazine" section, click on "Delete".
- In the additional window, we leave one tick opposite the "cookie and web sites" files, then click "Delete".
Using simple actions, we completely cleaned the cookie files in a specially designated browser menu. All our personal information and settings were destroyed.
Method 2: Side Software
There are special programs that allow cleaning cookies without pre-logging into the web browser itself. Among all the solutions, CCleaner is especially allocated, which will be discussed further. It has two tools that can help with clearing the necessary data.
Option 1: Full cleaning
Full cleaning tool will delete all saved files, so it is applicable only when you want to get rid of all cookies. Before executing the instructions below, you need to close the browser, and only then you can perform actions.
- Move to the "Standard Clean" section and open the "Windows" tab.
- Here you remove or put all the desired ticks to clean up other components if required. Do the same in the "Applications" tab.
- After everything is ready, it will only be left to "clean".
- Check out the warning shown and click on "continue."
- You will receive a notice that cleaning has passed successfully and a certain number of files was deleted.
Option 2: Selective Cook Removal
The second tool implies deleting only selected files, but the information will be erased and in all other installed browsers, so consider it when performing the following steps.
- Through the menu on the left, go to the "Settings" section and select "Cookies" category.
- Laying the desired website and click on it PKM. In the menu that appears, select "Delete".
- Confirm the removal by clicking on the appropriate button.
In the same pop-up menu over "Delete", you could notice the "Save" button. She is responsible for sending a site to a special group. All references that will be placed there are not removed during complete cleaning. Consider this if you want to erase the cookies by the first method.
Now you are familiar with two ways to clean cooking files in the standard Windows operating system browser. As you can see, there is nothing complicated in this, you just need to choose the most suitable option.
