Connecting a router to configure
Despite the fact that connecting the router is not so difficult, just in case, I will stop at this moment. From the reverse side of the router there are five ports, one of which is blue (WAN, Internet) and four others - yellow (LAN).
Internet Provider Cable Beeline should be connected to the WAN port.
I also recommend setting the router to spend on a wired connection, it will relieve you from many possible problems. To do this, connect one of the LAN ports on the router with a computer network card connector or a laptop included in the kit.
Before you configure ASUS RT-N12
Some things that will also contribute to successful configuration and reduce the number of questions related to it, especially for novice users:
- Neither during the configuration after it does not start connecting the Beeline on the computer (that which is usually used to access the Internet), otherwise, the router will not be able to set the desired connection. The Internet after setting will work without launching Beeline.
- It is better if you configure the router you will be through a wired connection. And connect to Wi-Fi when everything is already configured.
- Just in case, go to the connection settings used to communicate with the router, and make sure that the TCP / IPv4 protocol parameters are set to "receive an IP address automatically and receive the DNS address automatically." To do this, press the Win + R keys on the keyboard (Win-key with the Windows emblem) and enter the NCPA.CPL command, then press ENTER. Choose in the list of connections, through which you are connected to the router, for example, "Connecting over the LAN", click on it with right mouse button and select "Properties". How to go to the settings of the router
Turn on the router into the outlet, after we took into account all the recommendations. After that, there are two events options: nothing happens, or the page will open in the picture below. (At the same time, if you have already been on this page, somewhat different will open, immediately go to the next section of the instruction). If, as well as me, this page will be in English, it is impossible to change the language at this stage.
If it has not opened automatically, run any browser and enter in the address bar 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER. If you see a request for a login and password, enter Admin and Admin in both fields (the specified address, login and password are written on the sticker at the bottom of ASUS RT-N12). Again, if you hit the wrong page that I led to immediately go to the next section of the instruction.
Click the "Go" button on the page (in the Russian version the inscription may differ). At the next stage, you will be prompted to change the standard Admin password for something. Do it and do not forget the password. I will note this password will be needed to go to the router settings, but not for Wi-Fi. Click "Next".
The router will start determining the type of network, after which it is suited to enter the name of the SSID wireless network and put a wi-fi password. Enter them and click "Apply". If you configure a router over a wireless connection, at this point the connection will break up and you will need to connect to the wireless network with new parameters.
After that, you will see information about which parameters were also applied the "Next" button. In fact, ASUS RT-N12 correctly defines the type of network and configure the Beeline connection will have to manually. Click "Next".

- Connect to the DNS server automatically: yes
- Username: Your login Beeline starts at 089
- Password: Your Beeline Password

And click the Apply button. If all settings have been entered correctly, and the Beeline connection on the computer itself is broken, then after a short time, going to the "network card", you will see that the Internet is "connected".
Setting up Wi-Fi network
The main settings of the wireless network parameters of the router you could do at the automatic configuration of ASUS RT-N12. However, at any time you can change the password to Wi-Fi, the network name and other parameters. To do this, simply open the "Wireless Network" item.
Recommended parameters:
- SSID - any desired name of the wireless network (but not Cyrillic)
- Authentication Method - WPA2-Personal
- Password - at least 8 characters

After applying the changes, save them. That's all, now you can enter the Internet with any equipped Wi-Fi module devices connecting to your wireless network.
