TIFF is one of the many graphic formats, also one of the oldest. However, the images in such a format are not always convenient in domestic use - not least due to the volume, since pictures with such an extension are compressed by loss data. For convenience, TIFF format can be converted to a more familiar JPG using software.

Both of the above-mentioned graphic formats are very common, and with the conversion of one to another, both graphic editors and some image viewers are coping with both graphic editors.

The program works fine, however, on large files (more than 1 MB), the preservation slows down significantly, so be prepared for such nuances.

Method 2: ACDSEE

The famous ACDSEE image viewer was very popular in the mid-2000s. The program continues to develop today, providing users with a large functionality.

1. Open ASDSI. Use "File" - "Open ...".

   

2. The File Manager program window opens. In it, go to the directory with the target image, select it by pressing the left mouse button and click "Open".

   

3. When the file is loaded into the program, select "File" and the "Save As ..." item.

   

4. In the file saving interface in the "File Type" menu, install "JPG-JPEG", then click on the Save button.

   

5. The converted image opens directly in the program next to the source file.

   

The shortcomings of the program are a bit, however, they can become critical for a number of users. The first is a paid basis for the distribution of this software. The second is a modern interface The developers considered more important than performance: on not the most powerful computers, the program will noticeably slow down.

Method 3: Faststone Image Viewer

Another well-known application for viewing photos, Faststone Image Viewer, also knows how to convert images from TIFF to JPG.

1. Open Fastonene Idip View. In the main application window, find the "File" item in which you select Open.

   

2. When the File Manager firmware window appears, go to the location of the picture you want to convert it, select it and click on the Open button.

   

3. The image will be open in the program. Then again use the "File" menu by choosing "Save As ...".

   

4. A file saving interface will appear through the "Explorer". In it, proceed to the drop-down menu "File Type", in which select "JPEG FORMAT", then click "Save".

   

   Be careful - Do not click Random item "JPEG2000 Format", located right under the right one, do not get a completely different file!

5. The conversion result will be immediately open in Faststone Image Viewer.

   

The most tangible disadvantage of the program is the routine conversion process - if you have many TIFF files, the conversion of all of them can take a long time.

Method 4: Microsoft Paint

The solution built in Windows is also capable of solving the task of converting photos TIFF in JPG - True, with some reservations.

1. Open the program (usually it is in the Start menu - "All Programs" - "Standard") and click on the menu Call button.

   

2. In the main menu, select Open.

   

3. The "Explorer" opens. In it, get to the folder with the file you want to convert, select it clicks and open the appropriate button.

   

4. After downloading the file, use the main menu of the program. In it, hover the cursor to the "Save As" item and in the pop-up menu, click on the "Image in JPG format".

   

5. The save window opens. Optionally, rename the file and click "Save".

   

6. Ready - the picture in the JPG format will appear in the previously selected folder.

   

Now about the mentioned reservations. The fact is that MS Paint understands only files with the extension TIFF, the color depth of which is 32 bits. 16-bit pictures in it simply will not open. Therefore, if you need to convert exactly 16-bit TIFF, this method will not suit you.

As you can see, options for converting photos from TIFF to the JPG format is enough and without the use of online services. Perhaps these solutions are not as convenient, however, a significant advantage in the form of a full-fledged work of programs without internet compensates for the shortcomings.
