How to use Format Factory

Format Factory is a program designed to work with multimedia file formats. Allows you to convert and combine video and audio, apply sound on the rollers, create gifs and clips.

Format Factory features

Software, which will be discussed in this article, has quite wide opportunities in converting video and audio to various formats. In addition, the program has a functionality for working with CD and DVD discs, as well as a simple built-in track editor.

Union video

This feature allows you to make one track from two or more rollers.

1. Click on the "Combine Video" button.

   

2. Add files by pressing the corresponding button.

   

3. In the end file, the track will go in the same order, in which they are in the list. In order to edit it, you can use the arrows.

   

4. The choice of format and its configuration is made in the "Configure" block.

   

5. In the same block there is another option presented in the form of switches. If the "Copy Stream" option is selected, the output file will be a conventional glue of two rollers. If you choose "Start", the video will be combined and given to the selected format and quality.

   

6. In the "Title" block, you can add credentials.

   

7. Click OK.

   

8. Run the process from the "Task" menu.

Video overlay

This function in the Format Factory is called "Multiplexer" and allows you to impose any sound tracks on videos.

1. Call the function corresponding to the button.

   

2. Most settings are performed in the same way as when combined: add files, select format, editing lists.

   

3. In the source video, you can turn off the built-in sound track.

   

4. After completing all manipulations, click OK and launch the overlay process.

Work with sound

Functions for working with audio are located on the tab of the same name. Here are presented supported formats, as well as two utilities for combining and mixing.

Conversion

Converting audio files to other formats occurs in the same way as in the case of video. After selecting one of the items, a selection of yeast and customizing the quality and place of saving is selected. Starting the process is carried out similarly.

Audio combining

This feature is also very similar to the video similar to the video, only in this case the sound files are combined.

Settings here are simple: adding the required number of tracks, changing the format parameters, select the output folder and editing the recording sequence.

Mixing

By mixing in Format Factory, implies one sound track to another.

1. Run the function and select two or more sound files.

   

2. Customize the output format.

   

3. We choose the total duration of the sound. There are three options here.
   • If the "Longest" item is selected, the duration of the finished roller will be like the longest track.
   • Selecting "Shortest" will make the output file of the same length as the shortest track.
   • When choosing a "first" option, the total duration will be adjusted to the length of the first track in the list.

   

4. Click OK and run the process (see above).

Working with images

The Tab with the name "Photo" contains several buttons to call the functions converting functions.

Conversion

1. In order to translate the image from one format to another click on one of the icons in the list.

   

2. Next, everything happens according to the familiar scenario - setting up and running conversion.

   

3. In the format options block, you can only choose the change in the original size of the picture from the preset options or enter it manually.

   

Additional features

The program helps to process snapshots, delete unnecessary elements, add different effects, make up the pages of the photo book.

Work with documents

Functional for processing documents is limited to convert PDF to HTML, as well as creating files for e-books.

Conversion

2. The set of settings here is minimal - selecting the ultimate folder and changing some of the output file settings.

   

3. Here you can determine the scale and permission, as well as what elements will be built into the document - pictures, styles and text.

   

Electronic books

1. In order to convert a document to one of the e-book formats, click on the corresponding icon.

   

2. The program will propose to establish a special codec. We agree, because without this, it will be impossible to continue to work.

   

3. We are waiting until the codec boosts from the server to us on the PC.

   

4. After downloading, the installer window will open, where we press the button shown in the screenshot.

6. Upon completion of the installation, once again click on the same icon as in p 1.
7. Next, simply select the file and folder to save and run the process.

   

Editor

Starting the editor is carried out by using the "Clip" button in the conversion or integration settings block (mix) audio and video.

For video processing, there are the following tools:

• Trimming in size.

  

• Cutting a certain fragment, with the setting of its start and end.

  

• Also here you can select the source of the audio channel and adjust the volume of the sound in the roller.

  

To edit sound tracks, the program provides the same functions, but without krop (trimming in size).

Batch processing

Format Factory makes it possible to process files contained in one folder. Of course, the program will automatically select the content type. If, for example, we convert music, then only sound tracks will be selected.

1. Click the "Add folder" button in the conversion settings block.

   

2. To search for a click "Select" and looking for a folder on a disk, then click OK.

   

3. All files of the required type will appear in the list. Next, perform the necessary settings and run conversion.

   

Profiles

Profile in Format Factory This is saved custom format settings.

1. After the parameters were changed, click "Save As".

   

2. Let the name of the new profile, choose the icon for it and click OK.

   

3. The tab with the functions will appear a new element with the name "Expert" and the number.

   

4. When you click on the icon and open the settings window, we will see the name that was invented in paragraph 2.

   

5. If you go to the format settings, here you can rename, delete or save new profile parameters.

   

Work with disks and images

The program allows you to retrieve data from Blu-Ray, DVD and audio discs (grabbing), as well as create images in ISO and CSO formats and convert one to another.

Grabbing

Consider the process of extracting tracks on the example of AUDIO-CD.

1. Run the function.

   

2. Select the drive in which the desired disk is inserted.

   

3. Customize format and quality.

   

4. Rename tracks if required.

   

5. Click "Start".

   

6. Run the extraction process.

   

Tasks

The task is a waiting operation that we run from the corresponding menu.

Tasks can be saved, and if necessary, download to the program to speed up working with the same operations.

When saving the program creates a Task format file, when all the parameters contained in it are automatically installed.

Command line

This FormatFactory feature allows you to use some functions without running a graphical interface.

After clicking on the icon, we will see the window with the command syntax for this particular function. The line can be copied to the clipboard for the subsequent insertion into the code or the script file. Please note that the path, file name and the location of the target folder will be prescribed manually.
