iPhone is a multifunctional device that replaces many individual gadgets. In particular, the apple smartphone can perfectly distribute the mobile Internet to other devices - it is enough to make a small setting.
In the event that you have a laptop, a tablet or any other device that supports connecting to Wi-Fi access point, you can equip it with an Internet using an iPhone. For these purposes, the smartphone provides a special modem mode.
Turn on modemia mode
- Open the settings on the iPhone. Select the Modem Mode section.
- In the column "Password Wi-Fi", if necessary, change the standard password to your own (you must specify at least 8 characters). Next, enable the "Modem Mode" function - to do this, move the slider to the active position.
From this point on, the smartphone can be used to distribute the Internet in one of three ways:
- Via wi-fi. To do this, from another gadget, open the list of available Wi-Fi points. Select the name of the current access point and specify the password for it. After a couple of moments, the connection will be performed.
- Via bluetooth. This wireless connection can also be used to connect to the access point. Make sure the bluetooth is activated on the iPhone. On the other device, open the Bluetooth devices search and select iPhone. Create a couple, after which Internet access will be adjusted.
- Via USB. The connection method is perfect suitable for computers that are not equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter. Moreover, with its help, the data transfer rate will be slightly higher, which means that the Internet will be faster and more stable. To use this method, iTunes must be installed on the computer. Connect an iPhone to a PC, unlock it and answer a positive question "Trust this computer?". Finally, you need to specify a password.
When the phone is used as a modem, a blue string will appear at the top of the screen, which communicates about the number of connected devices. With it, you can clearly control when anyone connects to the phone.
If the iPhone does not have the Modem Mode button
Many iPhone users, configuring modem mode for the first time, face the lack of this item in the phone. This is due to the fact that the gadget does not make the necessary operator settings. In this case, you can solve the problem by speaking them manually.
- Go to the smartphone settings. The following will need to open the Cellular Communication section.
- In the next window, select the "Cell Data Network" item.
- In the displayed window, locate the modem mode. Here you will need to make information in accordance with the operator used on the smartphone.
Tele 2
- APN: internet.tele2.ru.
- Username and password: Leave these fields empty
MTS
- APN: internet.mts.ru.
- Username and password: In both graphs, specify "MTS" (without quotes)
Beeline
- APN: internet.beeline.ru.
- Username and password: In both graphs, specify "Beeline" (without quotes)
Megaphone
- APN: internet
- Username and password: In both graphs, specify "GDATA" (without quotes)
For other operators, as a rule, the same settings are specified as for a megaphone.
- Return back to the main settings menu - the Modem Mode item must be displayed.
