When printing and simply printer accumulates a significant amount of dust and other garbage. Over time, this can cause devices in the device or deterioration in print quality. Even in preventive purposes, it is sometimes recommended to fully clean the equipment to avoid the emergence of problems in the future. Today we will focus on HP products and tell you how to make the task yourself.
Clean the HP printer
The whole procedure is divided into steps. You need to perform consistently, carefully reading the instructions. It is important not to use ammonia-based cleaning products, acetone or gasoline even for wiping outdoor surfaces. When working with the cartridge, we advise you to put on gloves to avoid paint.Step 1: Exterior Surfaces
First deal with the printer coating. It is best to use a dry or wet soft fabric that will not leave scratches on plastic panels. Close all covers and thoroughly wipe the surface to get rid of dust and stains.
Step 2: Work Surface Scanner
There are a series of models with a built-in scanner or this is a full-fledged MFP where there is a display and fax. In any case, such an element as a scanner is found in HP products quite often, therefore it is worth talking about its cleaning. Gently wipe the inside and glass, make sure that all stains have been removed because they interfere with high-quality scanning. To do this, it is better to take a dry rag that does not have vains that could remain on the surface of the device.
Step 3: Cartridge Area
Smoothly move to the inner component of the printer. Often the contamination of this area provoke not only the deterioration of print quality, but also cause malfunction in the functioning of the device. Swipe the following:
- Turn off the device and completely disconnect it from the network.
- Raise the top cover and remove the cartridge. If the printer is not laser, but inkjet, you will need to remove each inkwell to get to the contacts and the inner area.
- The same dry cloth without a pile carefully get rid of dust and foreign items inside the equipment. Pay special attention to contacts and other metal elements.

Step 4: Capture Roller
In the printing periphery, there is a paper feed node, the main component of which is the capture roller. With its incorrect work, the sheets will be captured uneven or it will not be fulfilled at all. It will avoid this will help the full cleaning of this element, and it is done like this:
- You have already opened the side / top cover of the printer when you got access to cartridges. Now you should look inside and find a small rubberized roller there.
- On the sides are two small latches, they will fix the component in their place. Divide them on the sides.
- Carefully remove the capture roller, holding it for its base.
- Purchase a special cleaner or use a domestic product on an alcohol basis. Moisten the paper in it and wipe the surface of the roller several times.
- Dry and place it back to your place.
- Do not forget to consolidate holders. They need to be returned to the original position.
- Insert the cartridge or inkper back and close the lid.
- Now you can connect the periphery to the network and connect to the computer.
Step 5: Software Cleaning
The device's drivers from HP includes software tools that automatically produce the cleaning of certain internal elements of the device.
