Among the BEELINE network routers available, the SMART Box, which combines many different functions and provides very high technical characteristics regardless of the specific model. We will describe in detail the settings of this device further in this article.

Configure Beeline Smart Box

In total, there are four varieties of Beeline Smart Box, having insignificant differences between themselves. The control panel interface and the setup procedure in all cases are identical. As an example, we will take the basic model.

USB functions

1. Since Beeline Smart Box is equipped with an additional USB port, you can connect an external information storage to it. To configure the removable media on the start page, select "USB Functions".



2. Here are three items, each of which is responsible for a specific data transfer method. You can activate and subsequently configure each of the options.



3. The "Advanced Settings" link is a page with an extended set of parameters. We will return to this further in this instruction.

Fast setting

1. If you recently purchased the device under consideration and did not have time to configure the Internet connection on it, you can do it through the "Fast Settings" section.



2. In the Home Internet block, you must fill in the "Login" and "password" fields in accordance with the data from the BEELINE Personal Cabinet, usually specified in the contract with the company. Also in the Status bar you can check the correctly connected cable.



3. Using the "Wi-Fi-Network of the Routher" you can assign the Internet a unique name displayed on all devices with support for this connection type. Immediately you should specify the password to secure the network from use without your permission.



4. The ability to enable guest Wi-Fi network may be useful when you need to provide access to the Internet to other devices, but at the same time secure other equipment from the local network. The "Name" and "Password" fields must be filled with analogy with the previous paragraph.



5. Using the last section "Beeline TV", specify the LAN port of the TV consoles if it is connected. After that, click the Save button to complete the quick setup procedure.

Extended parameters

1. After the quick setup process is completed, the device will be ready to use. However, in addition to the simplified option of parameters, there are also "extended settings", go to which you can from the main page by selecting the appropriate item.



2. In the specified section, you can familiarize yourself with the information about the router. For example, a MAC address, IP address and network connection status are displayed here.



3. Clicking on the link in a row, you will be automatically redirected to the appropriate parameters.

Wi-Fi settings

1. Switch to the Wi-Fi tab and select "Main Parameters". Install the "Enable Wireless Network" checkbox, change the "Network ID" at your discretion and edit the remaining settings as follows:
   • "Mode of operation" - "11N + G + B";
   • "Channel" - "AUTO";
   • "Signal level" - "Auto";
   • "Connection restriction" - any desired.

   Note: Other rows can be changed in accordance with the requirements for Wi-Fi network.



2. Clicking "Save", go to the "Security" page. In the "SSID" row, select your network, specify the password and set the settings as well as shown by us:
   • "Authentication" - "WPA / WPA2-PSK";
   • "Encryption method" - "TKIP + AES";
   • "Update interval" - "600".



3. If you want to use Internet Beeline on "WPA" support devices, check the "Enable" checkbox on the Wi-Fi Protected Setup page.



4. In the "MAC Filtering" section, you can add automatic internet lock on unwanted devices trying to connect to the network.

USB settings

1. On the "USB" tab, all available connection settings for this interface are located. After downloading the "Overview" page, you can view the "Network File Server Address", the status of additional functions and the status of devices. The Update button is designed to update information, for example, in the case of connecting new equipment.



2. Using the parameters in the Network File Server window, you can configure sharing files and folders through the Beeline router.



3. The FTP Server section is designed to organize file transfer between devices on a local network and a USB drive. To access the connected flash drive, you need to enter the following in the address bar.

   FTP: //192.168.1.1



4. By changing the "Media server" parameters, you can provide devices from the LAN network access to media files and TV.



5. When you select "Advanced" and install the check mark "Automatically do all sections with networks", any folders on the USB drive will be available on the local network. To apply new parameters, click "Save".

Other settings

Any parameters in the "Other" section are intended exclusively for experienced users. As a result, we are limited to a brief description.

1. On the WAN tab, there are several fields for global Internet connection settings on the router. By default, you do not need to change them.



2. By analogy with any other routers on the LAN page, you can edit the parameters of the local network. Also here you need to activate the "DHCP" server for good operation of the Internet.



3. The subsidiaries of the "NAT" section are designed to manage IP addresses and ports. In particular, this refers to UPNP, directly affecting the work of some online games.



4. You can configure static routes on the Routing page. This section is used to organize direct data transfer between addresses.



5. If necessary, configure the "DDNS service" by selecting one of the standard options or specifying your.



6. Using the Safety section, you can secure the search on the Internet. If a firewall is used on the PC, it is better to leave without change.



7. The "Diagnose" item will allow you to check the quality of connection with any server or website on the Internet.



8. The "Event Logbook tab" is designed to display the data collected on the work of Beeline Smart Box.



9. Change the clock search, the server of obtaining information about the date and time you can on the Date, Time page.



10. If you are not satisfied with the standard "username" and "password", they can be edited on the Password Change tab.

    

    System Information

    When you appeal to the "Information" menu item, you will open a page with multiple tabs, on which a detailed description of those or other functions will be displayed, but we will not consider them.

    

    On the fact of making changes and saving them, use the Restart link available from any page. After re-launching the router will be ready to use.
