Mouse is on, but does not move the cursor

Method 1: Installing Drivers

In modern versions, Windows peripherals like mice does not require special software for work, but some advanced devices (gamers and / or wireless) still need drivers.

2. If the installation of software from Vendor did not help, it is worth checking the "Device Manager". To call it, it is better to use the "Run" tool: Press the Win + R keys, enter the Devmgmt.msc query and click OK.

4. In this list, we are interested in positions designated as "HID devices" and similar in meaning. Select this, call its context menu and select "Properties".

Method 3: Elimination of hardware problems

The most unpleasant, but quite frequent cause of such behavior of the manipulator is the hardware breakdown.

1. The first thing to be done with a suspicion of a physical malfunction is to connect the mouse to another port, it is desirable to go straight to the motherboard.

   

   Also should exclude adapters by type of converters with PS / 2 on USB and USB hubs.

   

   If the problem is still observed, try connecting the mouse to a deliberately good computer, as well as connect to your similar device - it is necessary to exclude port breakdown on the PC itself or laptop.

2. Wired devices are often the cause of the cable hall: sometimes due to the active operation of the wire inside, it is larched or breaking, which is given to the symptoms under consideration. 5. It is also impossible to exclude damage to the board of the device itself or its components - usually a whole wire (or 100% working receiver for wireless options) is specified. As a rule, this kind of breakdown makes no sense to repair, and it will be easier to replace the device entirely.
