How to remove photos from Google Account

Option 1: PC version

Google account is one for each online service of this company and automatically synchronizes the personal information, including the profile photo. To get rid of the avatar, you can use in two ways to change the current image or in full removal it.

Method 1: Avatar Change

Due to the fact that new photos on Google account always automatically replace the old, the most simple removal method is the replacement of the avatar.

Go to Home Google Page

1. On the Google start page, click on the photo in the corner and select "Google Account Management".



2. Switch to the Home tab and right-click on the avatar over the account name.



3. Use the "Select File On Computer" button to download a new image, or assign an existing file from the "Your Photos" subsection.



4. Deciding with the choice and waiting for the download to complete, make the execution and click "Set as a photo photo".

   

   As a result, the main snapshot of the account will be updated in all services.

The only drawback of the decision is unstable and sometimes quite a long-term avatar update in all Google services. However, this situation can be affected by the following method.

Method 2: Removing a photo

If necessary, each ever downloaded photo on Google account can be completely removed, thereby forcefully disabling the unwanted avatar or leaving the account without image profile. To implement this task, you must use a special partition.

Go to Archive of Google albums

1. Use the above link and on the page that opens, select the "Profile Photo" album.

   

   Similarly, click on the "Profile Photos" folder.



2. From the list of available photos, select the one you want to delete. If you want to fully clear the section, actions in any case will have to be performed separately for each picture.



3. In full-screen viewing mode, click on the "..." icon in the upper right corner and use the Delete photo item.

   

   To start the deletion procedure, you will need additional confirmation through the pop-up window.

Despite the removal of the profile photo, the following image will always be installed as a replacement, and therefore complete cleaning may be required. At the same time, if, after erasing on some of the services, an old avatar has been preserved, be sure to use the "SHIFT + F5" key combination.

Option 2: Mobile version

On the mobile device, removal photos of the profile can be exactly the same two methods consisting in changing or cleaning. In both cases, the features are fully identical to a website on a PC.

Method 1: Avatar Change

To change the photo profile in Google, you can equally use the official website or the same mobile application. We will consider only the second option.

1. Through the main menu, open the "More" tab, expand the block with the account name and tap the Google Account button.



2. Once on the start page of the settings, tap on the image above the name, and in the pop-up window, use the link "Add profile photo".



3. Select one of the options presented, whether it is a snapshot or download of the photo from the device's memory.

   

   Whatever the image, the image was not loaded, to continue it will be necessary to make cropping with a square shape and click "Accept".

   

   After the actions made, new parameters will be saved, and the photo on the main settings page will change. The same should be happening in all related services.

Method 2: Removing a photo

If the old avatar in some of the Google services does not change or you simply want to get rid of all of once taken by a picture, you will have to use the album archive. This section has no alternatives in applications, and therefore any convenient mobile browser will be required.

Go to Archive of Google albums

1. Open the page on the link presented above, select "Profile Photos" and expand the Profile Photos folder.



2. From the presented images, tap the desired to go to full-screen viewing mode.



3. In the upper right corner of the screen, click on the three vertical points icon and select Delete. Please note that you can get rid of the active photos of the profile.



4. Confirm the removal in the pop-up window using the corresponding button, not forgetting about the consequences.

   

   If you only get rid of the current photo of the account, the following image from the album archives will be automatically installed as a new avatar.
