Important! The "System Volume Information" folder is on each USB drive - any attempt to delete it with standard tools ends with the fact that the directory instantly returns to its place. You can get rid of this directory for a longer period of time using the "command line". System Volume Information will be deleted only on the current session of the use of the flash drive - upon subsequent connection, it will appear again, it will not get rid of it.
Step 1: Getting full access rights
If the file system of the drive is used is FAT32 or EXFAT format, immediately go to step 2 - in such FS folder opens without additional rights, operations with it can be carried out immediately. On a flash drive with a file system in NTFS format, you first need to get access rights:
- Right-click on the folder, go to Properties. Open the Safety section, click on "Advanced".
- In the column "Owner", click on the "Edit" button.
- In the window that opens, go back to "Optional".
- Click on the "Search" button, in the built list, select the current user account, click on "OK" in this window and subsequently.
- Activate the option "Replace the owner of subspeteers and objects". Apply the changes, agreeing to convey the right to full access.
- Return along the path of "Properties" - "Security" - "Optional". Highlight your account in the "Permissions" block, click on "Edit".
- Activate the "Full Access" option, save the settings.
