Calibration is setting brightness, contrast and monitor color reproduction. This operation is performed in order to achieve the most accurate match between the visual display on the screen and what is obtained when printing on the printer. In a simplified version, the calibration is used to improve the picture in games or when viewing a video content. In this review, let's talk about several programs that allow more or less accurately set the screen parameters.
Cltest.
This program allows you to mostly calibrate the monitor. It has functions for determining the points of black and white, as well as two calibration modes, which are a phased adjustment of the gamma at different points of the curve. One of the features is the ability to create custom ICC profiles.
ATRISE LUTCURVE.
This is another software capable of helping in calibration. The monitor setting occurs in several steps, followed by saving and automatically loading the ICC file. The program is able to set the points of black and white, together adjust the clarity and gamut, determine the parameters for the selected points of the brightness curve, but, unlike the previous participant, it only works with one profile.
Natural Color Pro.

Adobe Gamma.
This simple software was created by Adobe developers for use in their branded products. Adobe Gamma allows you to customize the temperature and glow, adjust the display of RGB colors for each channel, adjust the brightness and contrast. Thus, you can edit any profile for subsequent use in applications that use ICC in your work.
QuickGamma.
Quickhamma Calibrier can be called with a large stretch, nevertheless it is capable of changing some screen parameters. This is brightness and contrast, as well as the definition of the gamma. Such settings may be sufficient for subjective improvement in the picture on monitors not intended for working with photos and video.
The programs presented in this article can be divided into amateur and professional. For example, Cltest and Atrise Lutcurve are the most efficient calibration tools due to the possibility of fine curve settings. The rest of the review belongs to the amateur, as they do not have such opportunities and do not allow to accurately determine some parameters. In any case, it is worth understanding that when using such a software, color reproduction and brightness will depend only on the perception of the user, so it is still better to use a hardware calibrator for professional activities.
