How to connect a laptop to a laptop via Wi-Fi
In this article we will tell, how to combine two devices in the system using standard system tools. By the way, there had previously existed special software that allowed to connect a laptop to a laptop, but over time it became irrelevant and now it is quite difficult to find it. And why, if everything is very simply done by Windows.Attention!
The prerequisite for this method of creating a network is the presence of built-in wireless adapters in all connected devices (do not forget to turn on). Otherwise, follow this instruction is useless.
Connecting through router
You can create a connection between two laptops using a router. By creating a local network in this way, you can enable access to some data to the other network devices.
- First of all, you need to make sure that both devices connected to the network have unequal names, but the same workgroup. To do this, go to the "Properties" of the system using PCM on the "My Computer" icon or "This computer".
- In the column on the left, find the "Advanced System Parameters".
- Switch to the "Computer Name" section and, if necessary, change the data by clicking on the corresponding button.
- Now you need to get to the "Control Panel". To do this, click on the keyboard, the Win + R keys combination and enter the Control command dialog box.
- Here, find the "Network and Internet" section and click on it.
- Then go to the Network and Shared Access Center window.
- Now you need to go to the optional shared settings. To do this, click on the appropriate link in the left part of the window.
- Here, deploy the "All Network" tab and allow access, noting a special checkbox, and you can also choose, will connect available by password or free. If you select the first option, only users with a password account on your PC can be viewed. After saving the settings, restart the device.
- And finally, we share access to the contents of your PC. Click on the PCM on a folder or file, then hover over "Shared Access" or "Provide Access" and select this information to whom.

- Call a "command line" with administrator rights - using the search, find the specified section and by clicking on the PCM item, select "Run on behalf of the administrator" in the context menu.
- Now write the following command to the console that appears and press the Enter keypad:
NETSH WLAN SHOW DRIVERS
You will see information about the installed network drive. All this, of course, is interesting, but we are important only the line "Support for the network". If "Yes" is recorded next to it, then everything is wonderful and can be continued, your laptop allows you to create a connection between two devices. Otherwise, try to update the driver (for example, use special programs to install and update drivers).
- Now enter the command below where Name. - This is the name of the network that we create, and Password. - password to it with a length of at least eight characters (quotes erase).
Netsh WLAN Set HostedNetwork Mode = ALLOW SSID = "NAME" KEY = "PASSWORD"
- And finally, launch the operation of the new connection using the Team below:
