For example, you wanted to watch Youtube videos on a huge flat TV screen. To do this, connect the TV to the Internet through the router, which is now almost in every home. On most models of "smart" TV, two options for organizing access to the "World Wide Web" are possible: wired interface or Wi-Fi wireless network. Let's try to connect between the router and the TV using both methods. For a visual example, take the following devices: Smart TV LG and TP-LINK router. On the devices of other manufacturers, our actions will be similar to small discrepancies in the names of the parameters.Method 1: Wired connection
If the router is close to the TV show and there is easy physical access to it, it is advisable to use the usual patch cord for organizing communication between devices. This method gives the most stable and fast Internet connection for the smart TV.
- At the very beginning of our actions, we temporarily turn off the power supply of the router and the TV shows, as any manipulations with wires are more reasonably produced without load. We purchase in the store or find in home stores the cable RJ-45 of the desired length with two terminal forks. This patch cord will bind the router and TV.
- One end of Patch Cord is connected to one of the free LAN ports on the back of the router housing.
- The second cable plug is gently sticking in a LAN smart TV connector. It is usually located next to other sockets on the back of the device.
- Turn on the router and then the TV. On the TV remote control, press the "Settings" button and call a screen with various settings. With the help of arrows on the remote control, we move to the "Network" tab.
- We find the Network Connection parameter and confirm the transition to its settings.
- On the next page, we need to "configure the connection".
- The process of connecting to the Internet through a wired interface begins. It lasts usually not long, just a few seconds. Quietly waiting for the end.
- The TV reports that the network is successfully connected. Reliable connection between the TV and the router is installed. Click on the "Finish" icon. We leave the menu.
- Now you can fully enjoy the benefits of a smart television, open applications, watch videos, listen online radio, play and so on.
Method 2: Wireless Connection
If you don't want to mess around with the wires or you are confused by the view of the cable extended through the entire room, it is quite possible to connect the router to the TV through the wireless network. Many models of televisers have the built-in Wi-Fi function, the relevant USB adapters can be purchased to the rest.
- First check and if necessary, we turn on the distribution of the Wi-Fi signal from your router. To do this, go to the web interface of the network device. In any Internet browser on a computer or laptop connected to the router, type the IP address of the router in the address field. By default, this is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1, press the ENTER key.
- In the extended authentication window, enter the actual username and password to enter the router configuration. If you have not changed these parameters, then these are two identical words: admin. Click on the left mouse button on OK.
- Once in the web client of the router, open the page with the settings of the wireless mode.
- Check the availability of the Wi-Fi signal. In the absence of such, we will definitely include wireless broadcasting. I remember the name of your network. We maintain the changes made.
- Go to the TV. By analogy with the method 1, we enter the settings, open the "Network" tab and then follow the "Network Connection". Select the name of your network from a possible list and click on the remote control "OK".
- If your wireless network is password protected, then you need to enter it at the request of the TV book and confirm.
- The connection begins, what notifies the message on the screen. The completion of the process signals the inscription that the network is connected. You can leave the menu and use the TV.
