The most efficient method for creating a template for Instagram is to use special programs for the computer, despite the lack of loading the final images from the same device. In total, two main solutions are available, each of which will be considered by us only as an example, since in any case there are alternatives.

Independent creation

If you want to create the most unique template and are ready to spend time and strength, it is best to use any convenient graphical editor. We will consider only one such program - Adobe Photoshop, whereas if necessary, you can use other software like Gimp, Paint.NET or KRITA, depending on the requirements.

Using ready-made templates

In the absence of free time or simply work skills with special programs, you can use ready-made templates from the Internet located on various resources. Many of these works are available free of charge and require registration in the worst case, while the alternative is paid analogs from professionals and can be created for personal preferences.

1. On one of the above websites or any other, find the appropriate job and download. Be sure to make sure that the PSD file turned out to be on the computer, because the usual JPG or PNG simply does not contain information about the layers.



2. In the case of some services that, in particular, refers to Placeit, templates can be edited directly in the browser and download the ready-made material. This option is suitable if you use a mobile device, but do not want to install fairly large on the volume of the application.



3. If you got the template file in the above format, you can open opening using Adobe Photoshop and many similar graphic editors. The procedure itself does not differ from working with other documents.



4. As a rule, layers are divided into several folders with speaking names. So, for example, to change the inscriptions, expand the "Text" category, while the graphic files are in the "Image" section.



5. Please note that when changing the text in which the font is used on your computer, the default style will be set. To this not happen, you need to download and install the missing item.



6. To replace graphs, you must deploy the corresponding group and click on the layer thumbnail twice, thereby being in a separate program window. This is only possible if smart objects were used by the author.

   

   On the computer, find the file you want to add instead of the existing, and drag into just an open window. Following the image to be stretched to full screen, confirm the save using the "Ctrl + S" keys and you can return to the template.



7. If everything is done correctly, the picture will change, what can be immediately noticed. Similarly, you should proceed with other suitable elements, while the color is configured by using the palette.

   

   Upon completion, open the "File" menu on the top panel and select "Save As". Set as the "JPG" format to save the colors palette without changes, enter the document name and confirm the procedure using the corresponding button.



In general, to work with finished files it may be enough for individual online services like Canva, but in most cases such a decision will be unavailable due to strongly limited possibilities. If you are still ready to try, you can use the mentioned service or analogue of photoshop, performing essentially the same procedure in the browser.

Option 2: Mobile device

To create a template for Instagram from the phone, you will also have to use a special graphic editor, this time representing a separate application, or online services with ready-made sets. It is also important to take into account the auxiliary solution in the form of mobile clients for compiling and working with the content plans.

Account registration

Unlike a computer, where, at best, you can use a graphic editor or online service to create a future publication, individual applications are available on mobile devices, initially including templates. Most often, such programs offer billets not only for publications, but also allow you to control the overall style of the page, which was described in detail in a separate instruction on the site, and can be combined with previously submitted recommendations.
