RSAVER data recovery program
I have repeatedly wrote about various free tools for recovering data, this time we will see if the deleted files will be able to restore, as well as data from the formatted hard disk using the R.Saver program. The article is designed for novice users.

The program was developed by Sysdev Laboratories, specializing in product development products from various drives, and is a facilitated version of their professional products. In Russia, the program is available on the RLAB website - one of the few companies specializing in the recovery of data (specifically to such companies, and not in various kinds of computer help, I recommend contacting if your files are important). Where to download and how to install

Download R.Saver In the last version, you can always from the official site https://rlab.ru/tools/rsaver.html. On the same page you will find detailed instructions in Russian on how to use the program.

Main window RSAVER program

Installing the program to a computer is not required, just run the executable file and proceed to finding lost files on the hard disk, flash drive or other drives.

How to restore deleted files using R.Saver

By itself, restoring remote files is not a difficult task and there are many software to do this, all of them are well coped with the task.

For this part of the review, I recorded several photos and documents to a separate hard disk section, after which it deleted them with standard Windows tools.

Next actions are elementary:

  1. After starting R.Saver, on the left side of the program window, you can see the connected physical drives and their sections. By right clicking on the desired section, the context menu appears with the main available actions. In my case, it is "to look for lost data".
    Choice of Restoration Action
  2. In the next step, you must select a full sectoral file system scanning (for recovery after formatting) or quick scanning (if the files were simply deleted, as in my case).
    Select scan depth
  3. After executing the search, you will see the folder structure by viewing that you can see what was found. I had all deleted files.
    Found deleted files

To preview you can click on any of the file found twice: when it is done for the first time you will also be asked to specify a temporary folder where the files for preview will be saved (specify it on the drive different from which recovery happens).

Preview found files

To restore deleted files and save them to a disk, select the files that you need and or click "Save Selected" at the top of the program window, or right-click on dedicated files and select "Copy in ...". Do not keep them on the same disc from which they were removed, if possible.

Data recovery after formatting

In order to test the recovery after formatting the hard disk, I formatted the same section that was used in the previous part. Formatting was made from NTFS in NTFS, fast.

Restoring files after formatting

This time the full scan was used and, like last time, all files were successfully found and accessible to recovery. At the same time, they are no longer distributed by folders, which were originally on the disk, and sorted by types in the R.Saver program itself, which is even more convenient.

Conclusion

The program, as you see, is very simple, in Russian, in general, it works, if you do not expect something supernatural from it. It is quite suitable for a novice user.

I will only note that in terms of recovery after formatting, it has been successful for me only from the third double: before that I experimented with a USB flash drive (I did not find anything), a hard disk formatted from one file system to another (similar result) . And one of the most popular programs of this kind of Recuva in such scenarios works fine.
