Command line or console is one of the main elements of the AutoCAD software. It allows you to quickly activate various items or function by entering the corresponding commands. Through it, certain modes for tools are also selected and the values are configured when drawing or editing. The command line, like almost all panels in the autocada, can be in every way to edit, including hiding with the visible area. Therefore, users sometimes faced the fact that they cannot find this element and return it to the workspace. As part of this article, we will demonstrate the methods of correcting this situation.
Return a command line to AutoCAD
The following methods are universal and can be used absolutely in all supported versions of the program under consideration. They allow both to hide and include the console demonstration, so we advise you to get acquainted with all them to find the best option for yourself.Method 1: Setting transparency
Sometimes users specifically or accidentally change the basic parameters of the command line display and the situation is obtained when it becomes almost completely transparent until the cursor appears on it. With a low screen brightness and certain settings, you can generally not see the outline of the console and calculate it hidden. To set up a normal display, you need to perform such actions:
- Start printing anything on the keyboard in AutoCAD and activate any command. After that, the appropriate inscriptions will appear near the command line. So you can find its location.
- Mouse over it so that it becomes visible, and click on the button with the key icon for switching to the settings.
- In the context menu that opens, select the "Transparency" parameter.
- Raise the opacity by moving the upper slider to the right.
- After saving the changes, you will notice that now the console has become visible on the screen.
Method 2: Standard key combination
The first considered case rarely occurs, most often, users randomly press the hot key that is responsible for hiding and mapping the console, after which it disappears from the view. When you try to close the panel window, you see a notification that the recovery occurs by pressing Ctrl + 9. Use this combination to show or hide the "Command Line" panel at the desired time.

Method 3: Comstra team
Even if the console is in a closed state, you still have the ability to dial and activate absolutely any commands. When you enter, an additional context menu will appear with all content. Type the komstra, and then select the appropriate option to return the command line to its normal position.
By default, the console is located at the bottom of the workspace, so it should be displayed there after activating the Komstro.
Method 4: Menu "Palettes"
The appearance control of additional components and panels in AutoCAD also occurs through the standard menu in the tape. It is called the "palette", and the inclusion or hide of the command line through it is carried out like this:
- Pay attention to the main tape. Move there into the "View" tab.
- In the section called "Palettes", click on the command line icon. He is responsible for display.
- After that, the console should appear at the bottom or user form.
Method 5: Console location
As you could see in the above screenshots, the standard console is located in the center of the workspace at the bottom. However, this location varies in the same way as in the case of any other panels. Therefore, if you did not find the command line at the bottom, look at the entire workspace, because it could be accidentally moved to another place. After finding, press the button in the left edge of the panel and move it to a more appropriate area on the screen.
