Method 2: Media Player Codec Pack

An alternative to the above-mentioned solution will be the assembly of Media Player Codec Pack. Despite the name, this set is suitable for all video players.

1. There are two versions on the QodePak resource - one for obsolete windows, the other for more modern. The "Seedry" in the opinion of the developers refers to the latter, so download the option corresponding to this category - click "Download" under the text "For Windows 10/8/7 / Vista / 2008".



2. Wait until the installer downloads, then start it directly from the browser window, or go to the folder and open the file from there.



3. On the first screen of the installation tool, select the procedure option. In most cases, "Easy Installation" is quite enough, so we recommend choosing it.



4. Next, accept the user agreement.



5. In the next window, you can choose which codecs will be installed. Experienced users should pay attention to the "Video Codecs & Filters" block, the newcomers better leave the default options.



6. Now the installation of codecs will begin - progress can be traced on the filling strip.

3. Select the language on which the installer will be displayed, accessible and Russian, then click "OK" to continue.

6. Now select the installation directory - it is advisable to specify the disk on which the operating system is located for stable operation.



7. Specify whether you want to receive updates automatically - if not, mark the lower option.



8. Here you need to select the formats, when playing which the codec is installed, it is recommended to specify all available.



9. Click "Next" to start installation.



10. Wait until the product is installed on your computer. At the end of the procedure, remove the mark from the "Viewing Readme file" and click "complete".

As you can see, nothing is complicated. The only disadvantage of this solution can be called its specialization - XVID Codec will not help if there are problems with playback of files encoded not in MPEG-4 PACK 2.
