Setting up ASUS RT-N10U B Beeline

Anonim

The day before yesterday, I first encountered a Wi-Fi router ASUS RT-N10U B, as well as with the new firmware from ASUS. Successfully set up, made a client a couple of key screenshots and share information in this article. So, instructions for setting up the ASUS RT-N10U router to work with the Internet Beeline Provider.

Note: This manual is intended only for setting up ASUS RT-N10U VER. B, for other ASUS RT-N10, it does not fit, in particular, for them there is no inspection version of the firmware.

Before starting to configure

Note: During the configuration process, the process of updating the firmware of the router will be discussed in more detail. It is not difficult and necessarily. On the pre-installed firmware with which the ASUS RT-N10U ver.B is on sale, the Internet from Beeline is likely to work will not work.

Several preparatory items that should be executed before we started to configure Wi-Fi Router:

  • Go to the page http://ru.asus.com/networks/wireless_routers/rtn10u_b/ on the official website of ASUS
  • Click "Download" and select your operating system.
  • Open the "Software" item on the page that appears
  • Download the last firmware for the router (located on top, at the time of writing the instructions - 3.0.0.4.260, to download the easiest way to press the green icon with the signature "global). Unpack the downloaded zip file, remember where you unpacked.

So, now that we have a new firmware for ASUS RT-N10U b, we will perform some more actions on the computer from which we will configure the router:

LAN settings on a computer

LAN settings on a computer

  • If you have Windows 8 or Windows 7, go to the "Control Panel", "Network Management Center and Common Access Center", press "Changing the Adapter Settings", press the right mouse button on the "Connection on the LAN" and click "Properties". In the list that appears, "The marked components are used by this connection", select the "Internet version 4 TCP / IPv4" protocol and click "Properties". We look so that no parameters for the IP address and DNS are not written. If they are listed, then we put in both items "get automatically"
  • If you have Windows XP - we do the same as in the previous paragraph, starting with the right mouse button on the connection icon on the local network. Connection itself is in the management panel - "Network Connections".

And the last important item: Disable Beeline Connection on your computer. And forget about its existence for all the time settings of the router, and in the case of a successful setting - and for the rest of the time. Very often, problems arise exactly due to the fact that when configuring a wireless router, the user leaves the usual Internet connection included. This does not need to do and it is important.

On the reverse side of the ASUS RT-N10U B router, there is one yellow input to connect the provider cable, in this particular instruction it is Beeline and four LAN connections, one of which we should connect with the appropriate connector of the computer network card, everything is simple. After done this - turn on the router into the outlet.

Updating ASUS RT-N10U B firmware

Run any internet browser and enter the address 192.168.1.1 to the address bar - this is a standard address to access the ASUS brand routers settings. After moving to the address, you will be requested by login and password to access the settings - enter the standard admin / admin. After entering the correct login and password for ASUS RT-N10U B, you will fall to the main page of the router settings, which, the progress of everything, will look like this:

The process of updating the ASUS RT-N10U B firmware will begin. At the end of the update, you will get to the new router settings interface (an option is also possible that you are offered to change the standard Admin password to access the settings).

Setting up L2TP connection Beeline

Internet Provider Beeline uses the L2TP protocol to connect to the Internet. Our task is to configure this connection in the router. In the new firmware there is a good automatic configuration mode and if you decide to use it, here is all the information that you may need:

  • Connection Type - L2TP
  • IP address - automatically
  • DNS address - automatically
  • VPN address Server - TP.internet.beeline.ru
  • You also need to specify the login and password provided by Beeline
  • The remaining parameters can be left unchanged.

Unfortunately, it happens that automatic configuration does not work. In this case, you can use manual setting. Moreover, in my opinion, so even easier. In the "Advanced Settings" menu, select "Internet" and enter all the necessary data on the page that appears, then click "Apply". If everything was done correctly, then after a few share - you can open pages on the Internet, and in the network Map item will be displayed that there is access to the Internet. I remind you, the connection of Beeline on the computer does not need to be run - it will no longer need it.

Security Setup Wi-Fi Network

To configure the security settings of your wireless network in the "Advanced Settings" on the left, select "Wireless Network" and on the page that appears, enter the SSID - the name of the access point, any at your discretion, but I recommend not to use Cyrillic. Authentication method - WPA2-PERSONAL, and in the WPA Plutche field, specify a password consisting of at least 8 Latin characters and / or numbers - it will be requested when connecting new devices to the network. Click Apply. That's all, you can now try to connect to Wi-Fi from any of your devices.
