Windows 10 topics - how to download and install

In Windows 10 Version 1703 (Creators Update), it was possible to download and set the topics of the window from the Windows Store. Themes may include wallpapers (or their sets displayed on the desktop in the form of a slideshow), system sounds, mouse pointers and decor colors.

In this short instruction, how to download and install the topic from the Windows 10 store, how to delete unnecessary or create your own design topic and save as a separate file. How to download and set the topics

At the time of writing the article, simply opening the Windows 10 application store, you will not find there a separate section with themes. However, such a partition is present in it, and it is possible to get into it as follows.

1. Go to the parameters - personalization - themes.
2. Click "Other Topics in the Store".

   

As a result, the application store will open on the section with accessible to the topics.

By selecting the desired theme, click the "Get" button and wait for it when it is downloaded to your computer or laptop. Immediately after downloading, you can click "Run" on the topic page in the store, or go to "Parameters" - "Personalization" - "Topics", choose a downloaded topic and just click on it.

As mentioned above, the themes may contain several images, sounds, mouse pointers (cursors), as well as the color of the design (the defaults are applied to the windows framework, the start button, the background color of the launch menu).

However, from several those tested by me, none of them included anything other than background images and colors. Perhaps over time, the situation will change, moreover, the creation of its own verses is a very simple task in Windows 10.

How to delete set topics

If you have accumulated a lot of the design, some of which you do not use, you can remove them in two ways:

1. Right-click on the topic in the list of topics in the "Settings" section - "Personalization" - "Topics" and select the only point of the Delete Context menu.
2. Go to "Parameters" - "Applications" - "Applications and Features", select the installed theme (it will be displayed in the list of applications, if installed from the store), and select Delete item.

   

How to create your own topic of design Windows 10

In order to create its own theme for Windows 10 (and with the ability to transfer it to anyone else with the ability to do the following in the personalization parameters:

1. Customize the wallpaper in the "Background" section - a separate image, slideshow, solid color.
2. Configure colors in the appropriate section.
3. If you wish, in the subject section under the thumbnail of the current topic, change system sounds (you can use your WAV files), as well as mouse pointers (mouse cursor item), which can also be in the .cur or .ani formats.
4. Press the "Save theme" button and set its name.

   

5. After executing paragraph 4, the saved topic will appear in the list of set topics. If you click on it right-click, then in the context menu it will be the "Save the topic for shared" item - allows you to save the created topic as a separate file with the .deskthemepack extension

   

The topic saved in this way will contain all the parameters you specify, as well as the resources that are not part of Windows 10 are wallpapers, sounds (and sound scheme parameters), mouse pointers and it can be installed on any computer with Windows 10.
