But first things first.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2015
Let's start with the results of the last tests from leading independent antivirus laboratories (none of them is Russian, everyone has a long history and suspect them in sympathy to Kaspersky difficult):
- AV-Test (February 2015) - 6/6 protection, 6/6 performance, ease of use 6/6.
- AV-comparativeives - three stars (Advanced +) in all test tests (detection, removal, proactive protection, etc. More details at the end of the article).
- Dennis Technology Labs is 100% in all tests (detection, lack of false positives).
- Virus Bulletin - passed, without false positives (RAP 75-90%, a very peculiar parameter, I will try to explain it later).
By the amount of tests, we get the first place for Kaspersky Anti-virus Product.
Antivirus itself, or rather Kaspersky Internet Security, I think in the view does not need a convenient and efficient product to protect the computer from a variety of threats, removing viruses with wide additional features, such as payment protection, parental control, Kaspersky Rescue disk emergency disk (also being one of the most effective tools of this kind) and not only.

BitDefender Internet Security 2015
BitDefender anti-virus software has long been an almost unconditional leader in all tests and ratings. But by the beginning of this year - all the same second place. Test results:
- AV-Test (February 2015) - 6/6 protection, 6/6 performance, ease of use 6/6.
- AV-Comparatives - Three Star (Advanced +) in all covered tests.
- Dennis Technology Labs - 92% Protection, 98% Accurate triggering, overall rating - 90%.
- Virus Bulletin - passed (RAP 90-96%).
Also, as in the previous product, in BitDefender Internet Security there are additional tools for parental control and payment of payments, sandbox functions, cleaning and accelerating the computer loading, anti-thief technology for mobile devices, Paranoid Mode for paranoids and other work profiles.
Of the minuses for our user, there may be the absence of a Russian interface language, and therefore some functions (especially wearing branded names) may not be quite understandable. The rest is an excellent sample of antivirus, providing reliable protection, undemanding to computer resources and quite convenient.

Previously, it was often necessary to answer which antivirus is better - paid or free and can the second to ensure the proper level of protection. Usually I recommended free, but with some reservations, now the situation has changed.

Each of them uses own procedures for tests, and to represent the results - own parameters and scales for them available on official sites. (Note: On the Internet, you can also find a variety of "independent" laboratories of this type, which are organized by a specific manufacturer of antiviruses, the results are not analyzed by me).
AV-Comparatives produces the most wide range of tests, some of which are conducted with the support of the Austria Government. Almost all tests are aimed at identifying the effectiveness of antiviruses against a variety of attack vectors, the ability to detect the latest threats and delete them. Maximum result in tests - 3 stars or Advanced +.
AV-Test regularly conducts antivirus tests in three characteristics: protection, performance and ease of use. The maximum result for each of the characteristics is 6.
Dennis Technology Labs laboratory specializes in tests close to real use conditions, conducting tests on existing sources of infection with viruses and malicious code under controlled conditions.
Virus Bulletin conducts monthly tests of antiviruses, to pass which antivirus should detect everything without exception samples of viruses without a single false response. Also, for each of the products, the percentage parameter RAP is calculated, which is a reflection of the efficiency of proactive protection and removal of threats over several tests (none of the antiviruses it is 100%).
It is based on the analysis of this data that antiviruses are specified in this list. In fact, good antiviruses are more, but I decided to limit ourselves to the number that limited to, not including programs for which several sources report on the level of protection less than 100%.
